Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Jazmine, who is Philadelphia native was born and raised there. Her mother Pam is a former vocalist for the backup band of Philadelphia International Records. Her father offered her a job as the curator for the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She along with her family moved into the historical landmark. The 2005 Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts student She is an instructor in vocal performance. Sullivan began singing in the children's chorus in the contralto position, before joining the adult choir just a few years further on. Sullivan was not exposed to secular music. The singer recalls she was just 11 years old when a person asked her to sing solos at church. However, she was not enough yet to be ready. Then, McDonald's held a contest that was open to children living in cities. I was able to perform "Accept What God Allows" on the show Showtime At the Apollo. And the audience was very supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part on his birthday, 13 years old. Sullivan was the first to sign her contract to Jive Records when she was 15. She recorded the entire album but the album was never released. Sullivan was then eliminated by the label. She had a good working relationship to Missy Elliott. Elliott produced numerous tracks for her such as "Backstabbers", which was produced by Timbaland.
